Artic Magazine – Issue 1
the challenge
With a lot of experience in magazine design, the prospect of shape a completely new was naturally exciting. To design a magazine that focuses on such important issues such as global warming and wildlife made this project even more appealing. The challenge for this magazine was to create something that was thematic, fun and also helpful for children's learning.
the concept
Working with a former colleague and illustrator, Charles Okwuosa, we aimed for something informative but told a sweet story to help illustrate the plight of Binky a polar bear who gets lost due to arctic ice separating from the mainland.
the finish
We produced a 36 page magazine containing not only stories but also games to help aide in the learning process. Overall we went for a limited colour palette so the story and characters were the focus. It had to be fun but also had to be a learning tool, so we couldn't get carried away with too much colour distraction!
